Bethlehem is a Palestinian city located in the West Bank, Palestine, 10 km (6.2 ml) south of Jerusalem. That is why we can see both Bethlehem and Jerusalem in one day. The Gospel accounts of Matthew and Luke identify Bethlehem as the birthplace of Jesus Christ. That is why the major place of interest in the city is the Nativity Basilica, one of the oldest surviving Christian churches in the world, proclaimed in 2012 the UNESCO heritage.
After visiting the church we will walk into the st. Catherine Monastery where there is a cave of st. Jerome, the famous translator of the Bible.
We wil have lunch in Bethlehem (around 15$ - buffet), will make sure you get some local souvenirs (Bethlehem is famous for making souvenirs from the olive wood) and then will move back to Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is one of the oldest cities in the world, political, historical and spiritual center of the Jewish people and holy for three major religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
In Jerusalem we will see the major holy sites such as the Holy Sepulchre Church, the Last Supper room, king David's tomb, Dormition of Virgin Mary Church and walk trhough the quarters of the Old city.
We'll visit the Western Wall, one of the holiest places for believers of all faiths.

In order to enter Bethlehem we will have to pass through the IDF check post. You might be requested to produce your ID-s. It is completely safe to visit Bethlehem.
